The New Generation Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41

Last year, Rolex turned up with a new generation of Oyster Perpetual watches, featuring a broader 41mm case and a new movement. Moreover, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41mm debuted with seven vibrant dial colours. The collection includes both fun and conservative versions of the entry-level stainless steel models.

However, Rolex created the new Oyster Perpetual Reference 124300 based on the original Reference 114300 of 2015. Earlier, the 39mm was the biggest case diameter available within the Oyster Perpetual line. But Rolex increased the case size up to 41mm for 2020.

While the new 41mm versions debuted, it signalled the discontinuation of the Oyster Perpetual 39. However, the Oystersteel 41mm Oyster Perpetual watches flaunt rounded polished bezels and time-only dials. The new Rolex Calibre 3230 movement powers the new 41mm watches. Let’s dig into the details more.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 – Features

Rolex equipped the new Oyster Perpetual 41 with a stainless steel bracelet, complementing the brushed steel case. However, the bracelet feature an easy extension system but not the Glidelock micro-adjust mechanism. The watches are water-resistant up to 100m.

The Oyster Perpetual watches, as of 2021, are available in 41, 36, 34 and 31mm case sizes. However, Rolex has made several upgrades to the dials, including adding new colours.

The new Oyster Perpetual 41mm dials feature ‘double bars’ at 9, 6 and 3 o’clock hour markers, making them look bigger. Many collectors can spot this feature at first glance. However, what’s more tempting is the dial available in new striking colours.

No doubt, the boldest of them are coral red, turquoise and yellow colours. However, the Reference 124300 also comes in the classic black and silver dial with gold-toned hands and markers. Other options include forest green and deep metallic blue dial colours.

Rolex equipped the new Oyster Perpetual 41mm 2020 watches with the latest automatic Calibre 3230. It is both Rolex Superlative Chronometer and COSC certified. Moreover, the Calibre 3230 offers a power reserve of 70 hours and is precise to 2 seconds per day on average.

Overall, the current Oyster Perpetual collection has a higher allure because of its more prominent 41mm case diameter. Moreover, the vibrant dial colours coupled with the classic design make the series resonate perfectly with Rolex enthusiasts globally.
